You can use Step7 V13 SP2. It is fully compatible with Step7 V13 SP1. The base version with updates are available here: You can install it in parallel with other versions and use the license you have now for higher Step7 versions. I expect it to work for you to connect to the problem PLC. ~
The CPU will give an error if.. Switch off the power. Disassemble the PLC. Disconnect the wire terminals from the PLC and cards. Inspect the connection points: wire terminals and interconnections. Do the smell test -- burnt electronics. Put all the parts together again. Make sure all the interconnections are properly seated. If you have spare wire terminals for the cards -- wire only power providing pins. Check if the PLC is still in the same error mode. You can replace the problem expansion card without making changes to the PLC hardware configuration. Do not do a hot-swap -- the PLC should be properly off before attempting to swap out a card.
I have made an answer about this in the other question you published. Read that posting and study the link given. You can also speak to your local Siemens representative. We have no influence on the design decisions that Siemens made. Other brands also have some compatibility problems. Our factory has several generations of PCs each with their own softwares -- WinXP, Win7, Win10 and Win11. We are able to cater for most machines built since 1995. Consider this for your strategy. |
