Behrad Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hi, Has anyone idea about making communication betweenSiemens relays and ABB RTU560 using IEC61850. It seems SCD file created by Digsi doesn't work because it doesn't contain Data set in it. I tried to add data set in siemens icd files but I couldn't . In sicam pas it is possible but you can not export the new icd/scd from sicam pas. Thanks,

In Digsi you have to create the reports manually, almost the same as you create a GOOSE message. In IEC61850 Station, on the Link part, create a new Report application (not GOOSE application) and select the messages you want to send using the report. The dataset will be created automatically. You'll find information on the manuals on how to do it. Mike

Behrad Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hi mike Thank you. The problem is solved. You are right I fist made data set like you mentioned then defined them as rcb client in IET600 and it worked. I expected data sets apply to both ICD and SCD file. But even after updating datasets were only created in SCD and not in ICD. How can we explain it. Do these changes (creating data set) influence in parameter sets of relays or just in SCD/ICD structure? I mean If they change parameter set we have to have a new ICD including data sets. CID file is the ICD with the communication, like GOOSE and Reports SCD file is the collection of CIDs. The file extension is not that important, but the content of each file. An ICD file with GOOSE is actually a CID. Mike

Even the new ABB relays dont work with dynamic reports. Behrad, as Mike J told you extension is not important. You can always rename file. It is normal that in ICD files you dont have RCB. ICD = IED Capability Description CID = Configured IED Description All files are XML based you can open them with Notepad ++ or IE. If you also have ABB SET600 you can open SCD files. In this program you can also make RCB and check what they send. Best Regards Ensar

In some relays icd file template like Areva there are lots of predefined data sets and GOOSE message source. RTU560 also had an iid file that I renamed it to icd and inserted to Digsi. It also includes datasets. Anyway my question is still there. Imagine you insert some datasets in an icd/scd of a GE relay by a software (test harness, SET600, ...) and use the icd/scd your client ( here RTU560) Is it necessary to download your new icd to GE relay? Will the new icd change anything inside relay? Regards, Behrad

You have to create a RCB and associate it with a dataset. If the ICD file has a dataset, it is a CID file. The extension doesn't mean anything as the software will recognized the communication part. You have to ask each manufacturer if you can manipulate the ICD/CID and download it to the device. Normally you import the modified file back to each proprietary software, which will change the device configuration accordingly. Mike

evanecan Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello all, I am trying to communicate Siemens 7sj80 and ABB RTU in vertical 61850 communication. However, I could not get any document in Siemens Relay Manual. So I read your comments. Firstly, I opened DİGSİ Configurator and 61850 System configurator and created static Report application and deleted GOOSE application just for 7SJ80. this is xx.cid does not contain any RTU file. then I exported xx.cid file of DIGSI 61850 System Configurator to the iet600 (ABB 61850 Configurator). Then I combined ABB RTU and Siemens Relay 7sj80 successfully in iet 600. Then I imported xx.scd file to the DIGSI configurator but it gives me warning like "The device 'AA1TH1' does not exist in the accepting station " on the other hand I import in RTU 560 successfully. So I downloaded files both RTU and Relay lastly. But communication was unsuccessful. So what am I doing wrong ? could you assist me? Respectfully Attachment abbSIEMENS.pdf (1410 Downloads)

Siprotec doesn'T need any kind of information from the client, apart from IP Address, if you want to restrict it. If you want to exchange GOOSE messages between devices, then you need to import the CID from ABB into Digsi. Mike

As Mike said there is no need to import file back to Digsi. This is only necessary for GOOSE. Just give correct IP address to Siprotec. Define static reports if RTU need them. Best Regards Ensar
