William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1195)	TESTED BUT FAILED Pegaia Hi, here there is a V11 SP1 up2 verision of the project, this time with a KTP basic and a S7-1200. I think that runs in the TIA Basic... I didn't tested it yet (I ask you to give feed backs if it is ok) Pegaia, Thank you for the effort. I am however having trouble to open the project correctly. First my version was not right.. I did not have UPDATE 2 loaded. So I did that first. Now I get a very strange error message - the system requesting WinCC SP1 Update2. According to the install version status window this is what is installed. See the JPG for details. I notice however that you have used a TP1200 Comfort as panel and not the Basic Panel. Again refer to the JPG. I think the problem is that TIA BASIC does not handle the TP1200 Comfort. Why the error message does not just say I require TIA Professional, is an open question. [wink+smile] Maybe I should get a sponsor for buying me TIA Professional.. I seem to be the only one with TIA Basic wanting to see inside this program. Hope this feedback helps. Downloaed your example and this made it a lot clearer The word covers the range of the bits, Ie Mw30 equals 15 bits 31.0 31.1 31.2 31.3 31.4 31.5 31.6 31.7 30.0 30.1 30.2 30.3 30.4 30.5 30.6 30.7 (I have listed them all so if someelse looks at this they may understand more quickly than me, However, one question. If the HMI only looks at the WORD block, why does the example show all the bool variable in the HMI tags. I would have thought the only tags we would need to define in the HMI would be the WORD Tags. Please could you explain why the bool variable need to be in there (I assume they do) Thanks

Simon N Posts: 44 Rating: (0)	Hi this example worked very well thankyou,. If the HMI looks at the WORD tag, I dont understand why all the associated bits are loaded into the HMI tags as well. Is there a reason for this. I have used this code as follows. In my main application, I have the situation that if time condition > time a , the alarmtag M31.1 is set and confirmation tag 32.1 is reset The first time this is activated the alarm is shown on the HMI. I acknowledge the message on the HMI The alarm condition is re-triggered - but this is not re-displayed on the HMI. I am sure this is to do with the way I am intialising the alarm. Can you give me some pointers on how to do this.

erob1 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	pegaia, Can you set one of the alarm trigger bits from the PLC? The example uses buttons on the HMI. For example IF tag1 > tag2 set alarm1 = true is this possible or does the trigger bit have to be set in the HMI? Thanks for all you do!

Generally, the PLC "feels" these situaitons and represents then by internal memory bits. So, the normaly way is: field-> PLC -> HMI -> Alarm. It is also that buttons and internal HMI memoryes trigger alarms (e.g. for didatical propouses or to log some operator actions).
