I need to generate an alarm (output on/off) using timers.

To specific the problen:

1. The alarm is activating when input is 1.

2. Output is 1 for 1s and then output is 0 for 1s.

3. After that output is 1 for 3s and then output is 0 for 1s.

4. Back to 2.

It happens in cycle unless input is 0.

How should I do that? I am trying with TONR timers but I am getting confused. Is there better way than using TONR/TON timers? Problem seems to be quite easy though.

I think you should learn what a finite state machine is and implement this idea.
