I wish my power was so stable and that the plc was not turned off in almost 2 years. The TON will not continue where it left off unless it the TON timer's DB is configured to retain. Try T#666d16h for the TON preset. If you have an s7-1500, you can use LTIME to meet your needs. autokabyl the problem is that it does not want to take more than 500h

Maybe it's easier you use the RTM or a self created RTM-function. The actual value of runtime can you store in a retain DB, you have no problem when you switch off your machine or restart the PLC. Then can you compare the runtime hours and trigger a message, a warning or a alarm. Thats easier, because you can compare this value in different values for different reactions. Otherwise when you want to use a timer then use the TONR (accumulating time). If you need support or a suggestion for a RTM-functiion, please let me know. regards CaOd

Store the start date and time (DTL) in a datablock, make sure of course that it is defined as "retain", and compare it with the current date and time? It should be doable, using the days and hours part of the DTL format (and if necessary the minutes and seconds, but I doubt that those will be relevant over a period of 16000 hours). For the 16000 hours you may need to consider that there are some changes in daylight saving time of course.... And leap years...
