I am trying to count the time it takes to complete a cycle of a process. I am simply taking an input to the PLC from a switch that happens once every full cycle. I have been trying to use MOVE to move the HOURS, MINUTES and SECONDS from the current time of day and then doing that again and trying to take the difference but I don't seem to have much luck. I simply want to move this calculation once its done, into a memory block for our SCADA system to read. Can anyone point me in the direction of this really embarrassingly easy problem

When the switch is activated, move variable1 to variable2 and after this move 0 to variable 1.

Can anyone point me in the direction of this really embarrassingly easy problem aqueousdan in the right pane go to Instructions -> Timer operations -> TONR (Time accumulator). Use input IN to count time (when your process is active apply logical TRUE to this input). Use TONR output to represent time on the HMI. Use R to reset timer to zero. Hope this helps. Regards.
