Go online to SimoCom via CP343 from PLC project

attention, what I answer you here is not stand for Siemens

My answer to you is NO possible both from SIMODRIVE 611U HW or from SIMO COM U SW.

It is not support Ethernet communication 

Think about 611U has been discontinued, SIMOCOM U is the SW for it, So no need to add new function for it. But PROBUS-DP for 611U is also very good function you can continue to enjoy it.

I have more than 28 years using 611U experiences and still like it now. If you have any question regarding 611U  , we can discuss here

PS: you may have spelling error S7-CPU317 2DP instead of CPU371 2DP

Dear All, 

I thank you all for in advance your assistance.

We had an old project of CPU371 2DP with SimoCom Drives Earlier we used to go online from the project with Laptop connecting via MPI cable. We also had NetLink Pro (Profibus to Ethernet Converter) using this we were able to connect to the drives by setting the Subnet Mask.

Now we added a CP343-1 card to connect to PLC via Ethernet cable. But, we are not able to connect to the drives by using the same method.

Is there a setting that we need to change to go online via SImoCom A / U software?

Or the software doesn't support an ethernet connection?

you what you PC/PG installed SIMO COM U access thru Ethernet directly 611U? or   SIMOCOM U connect to Profibus then thru SIMATIC S7 network convertor indirectly access 611U?

I read the file you attached, it not mentioned. 

SIMODRIVE 611U connect to PROFIBUS thru a option module insert on the control , up to Firmware V13. i did not see any other option module or HW to set up connect to Ethenet. also there is no 611U parameters to set up it.  

Also from my idea, I  don't think it is worth to take time to do this research.

I did now find the document that says ethernet connection is possible but I need to do the settings in the Netpro. But I have Step75.6V with no SP or Hotfix and this does not support ethernet connection while Step7 5.5 did. For that, they have released Step7 5.6 SP2 Hotfix 3 but alas I don't have it so I can't test and confirm.

 Can you post the screenshot like your 1st post, to share SIMATIC Manager HW configuration.

and do you set any parameters in 611U?

After Installing the Hotfix 5 for Simatic Manager 5.6 now we are able to connect to the SimoCom Drives. Hope this help you all. 

 Thanks for your share. I checked your pictures. actually your question seems belong SIMATIC NETWORK SCOPE. SIMODRIVE 611U and SIMO COM U HERE paly the role as PROFIBUS NOT. 

LIKES YOU indirectly parameter 611U by SIMO COM U, THRU Ethernet (ACTUALLY  THRUN PROFIBUS)

HOWEVER YOU DID THE GOOD JOB SETTLE THE task by yourself afford
