Can not monitor online S7-1200 (all networks go grey)

This very thing happens to me virtually every time I first commission a new PLC.  I grab all the blocks from various sources and libraries and such, and almost always forget to call at least one of the blocks and wonder why it's always gray.

And the funny thing to me is I *never* assume I forgot to call it, and immediately go check if the PLC is still in RUN mode first.

That was my problem; I didn't call the function into the main.

I encountered the same problem and i solved the issue like this.

In my FB, I had the first network being written in SCL, is was functioning and monitored, but the rest of the LAD networks were grayed.

I moved the SCL network after the last network, and strangely all networks returned functioning normaly.

I think this needs to be debugged by the TIA developers (I used TIA V16 Upd 8)

Please register a support request if you are serious about what you are saying there. Stating this in the forum is not guarantee to bring it under the development team's attention.

Also make sure to add pictures of what you see. The same behaviour you mention is possible if there is an illegal operation in the code which excludes the rest of the code block execution. Though this normally has the fault indicator going on.. unless the fault reporting is muted by an OB.

without knowing that SCL network, I would guess that a RETURN is executed there.
