see attached manual, you can search free downloading SIMO COM U from Siemens We 611U is easy to set up with 3rd party motors --Induction motor will be much more easier PS: something classify--drive is SIMODRIVE 611U and the software to set up is "SIMO COM U"

Actually , I forgot to ask you what is meaning for elet motor? Gantry function normally is CNC function. even 611U can do position control by itself alone, but normally it only control single axis , one by one ( not like CNC can do interpolation ）general speaking I will say NO. I attached function manual for you read section 6, all function there I know there is Master /Slave function and Equalization controller, --But I don't think you can use gantry
