Please also see the attached screenshots. We have a machine with a G120_CU240E_2_DP_F drive. The drive was failing so we need to replace it. We are still using Simatic Manager and Starter 5.4 on most of our machines but are (slowly) moving to TIA. In order to be sure that the programming is not changed I want to first copy the programming from the drive to my PG. I connected my PG to the drive via a USB adaptor and managed to connect to the drive and follw the wizzard to copy the programming the my PG. Then the drive was relaced with a spare and I tried to download the programming to the new drive but was informed that a connection was not possible. When I search for the new drive in Starter i CAN find it it but naturally I don't want to copy from an "empty" drive. What am I doing wrong and how can I download the programming to the drive? Thank you for answering. But I know that it was only the actual drive that was accessible - I connected via a cable (and USB converter) directly to the 9 pin profibus port on the drive - so how can the address be wrong? I thought I was downloading the Profibus address to the drive - but I am in doubt now - is the Profibus address set in the HW and is so where/how is it set? |

Hi What is the firmware broken drive and firmware new drive ? If you change only power module it maybe have to change id power module in CU, or if you change everythink ( power module and control unit ) it maybe have to upgrade project to version of the new CU. |
