In GitHub there are Siemens open-source projects all around Industrial Edge (IE). For instance:

1. Pingpong-nodejs (also in C, C# and Python)

This example shows how to connect to the IE Databus via MQTT and how to publish and subscribe data using an implementation in Node.js. The IE Flow Creator is used to exchange data between different topics within the IE Databus.

2. Upload-app-to-industrial-edge-management

This example shows how to create a new project and application in the IEM and upload a dockerized application using the IE Publisher.

3. Tank Application

This is the documentation for the TIA Portal project "tank application", which simulates a tank and filling process that is used as reference application for different How Tos within Industrial Edge.

• The application "Archiving & Visualization” collects PLC data values using the S7 Connector System Application in IE. The collected data is automatically published to the IE Databus which is an internal MQTT broker of the Edge Runtime. The "Archiving & Visualization Demo" Application uses an MQTT Client (Datacollector) to subscribe to the IE Databus and write these values into an Influx-Database. The time series of the collected data can then be plotted with grafana.

• The scenario “Performance Insight - Getting Started” describes how to get the data from a PLC into the Performance Insight app, which is a flexible tool for calculating and visualizing machine condition.
