I'have never used this softxare before.

I need to create a TIMER in a Data Block and I don't know the initial value needed for this tag.

 Hello Gabriel_W,

You cannot do that. If you right click on the cell in the column "STRUCT" you will find out what kind of elementary types and complex types you can declare. If you want to use a timer, then you need to use function block with instance data block.

It is not clear what your difficulty is. Perhaps you already have a hardware timer called in the program wish to give the timer a setpoint. The data type that a hardware timer setpoint needs is S5TIME, the value written as S5T#2s for example.

Perhaps you are having difficulty to know how to measure time. For that you can refer to the following link: How do you measure the time in STEP 7 V5.x?

"TIMER" is not a data type. instead of that you can "TIME" which obviously is not a timer but time variable. if you want to create timer use may use SFB4.
