problem sending data via profibus from vs725 to s7-300

This is my first post and i hope im doing it in right place, here's my problem: I have got a siemens camera vs725 taking some measures and i need to send them, via profibus, to plc s7-300 in order to appear in one HMI TP170 A. I'm using vslink to connect camera to plc by profibus but i dont know how to struct OB1 in my project to receive data, i know i need to use some special functions to comunicate with camera, and also DP-send and DP-RECV. I dont know which type of comunication should be used, if simplified communication or enhanced, between spection-»vslink-»PLC. I hope you can give some help structuring my OB1, when and which functions should i call, and what should i do in spectation to send measures. Already read manuals, it really would help me if u can give some example. Best regards, José Mendes

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hi Jose, well, you're right at this place. You should use FB72 (simplified communication), then you won't need further function blocks. FB72 will do the complete communication. In Spectation Communication Manual you can find a step by step description how to setup the simplified communication. If the communication works itself, don't forget to activate the inspection mode ("running man") in Spectation. Otherwise the camera will not transmit anything. Also, don't forget to setup a connection in VSLink PB (Cyclic Data In- and Out = 32 Bytes), even if you don't use the VSLink for visualization. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/27235703 Best regards RatedX

josemendes Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, So i have in one of my softsensors output the measured value i want( something like 0,123), then i use one script with: VDX_SetOutputFloat(5, dist.Distance) «- hope this is correct!!!, then following spectation comunication manual i also turned off modbus and turned on ether/IP, and also in VDX options(Ether/VSlinkPB), in VSlink software in camera conection i also marked "X" in VDX, and writed 32 in profibus options. Now in simatic i got vslink in hardware config with right address, i set it on those small red buttons that vslink got, and in software, in OB1 i just call FB72 like: (this is in stl like in ur example, but im using lad, dont know why but my fb72 block, in lad, doesnt have "CONN_OK_CAM1:=") CALL " VS_S7_DP " , DB72 LADDR_CAM1 :=W#16#110 (110 since my I/O start at 272) LADDR_CAM2 : LADDR_CAM3 : LADDR_CAM4 : RECV :=P#DB2.DBX0.0 BYTE 128 (This is like its in ur example, i created DB2)* SEND :=P#DB2.DBX128.0 BYTE 128 RET_VAL_RECV:=MW10 RET_VAL_SEND:=MW12 * I think im missing some great part here ( * ), what do i need to do to make "0,123" get to PLC in order to display it in HMI TP170 A?, what i did is correct? what am i still missing? how should OB1 be? should i call FB72 just once in order to get my "0,123"?
