You'll find it in the file VBScripts.pdf on the path "drive:\Program Files\Siemens\WinCC\Documents\English\" in your computer. Below is a Global VBScript that I use succesfuly in my projects. Dim var_PLC,var_ALM Dim ErrCod Set var_PLC = HMIRuntime.Tags("PLC_var") var_PLC.Read Set var_ALM = HMIRuntime.Tags("PLC_Not_OK") var_ALM.Read Set ErrCod = HMIRuntime.Tags("PLC_QUALITY") var_PLC.Read If var_PLC.QualityCode <> 128 Then var_ALM.Value=1 var_ALM.Write Else var_ALM.Value=0 var_ALM.Write End If ErrCod.Value = var_PLC.QualityCode ErrCod.Write Where: - "PLC_var" may be any variable of the PLC - "PLC_Not_OK" is an internal tag that is used as alarm for loose of communication (inserted in Alarm Logging - "PLC_QUALITY" internal tag that contains the quality code of the tag from PLC.

Hello tekhno, I am working with this also. I would like to clarify something. PLC_VAR is the variable in the PLC - like m0.0? PLC_not_OK is an internal tag - in WinCC? like a binary tag? PLC_Quality internal tag that contains quality code of the tag from plc - another internal tag in WinCC, which quality code is enabled? no connection? forgive my ignorance, I am working with my first winCC project by reading manuals to make a functional project.. Thank you very much.

teckhno Posts: 47 Rating: (3)	Hello ry_fern PLC_VAR is any variable in the PLC - like m0.0, or MD, or DB.., etc. I supposed that if a PLC tag has no connection so there is no connection with the PLC PLC_not_OK is a binnary internal tag - in WinCC PLC_Quality is an unsigned 16 bit internal tag. The value 128 (hexa 80) means "Good (noncascade) - OK - No error or special condition is associated with this value" You may see this other forum links: - tag monitoring in WinCC Explorer - Communication checking/Button clickability.
