To further enhance this response, perhaps using the FTP solution with a pre-configured XML file stored in the PLC as a set of DB character arrays. Then as you need to update the data, you can use read the next char array, write to the output "DB", then write the xml data, then continue looping through the char array until all array elements are written - using the POKE command to write to the output buffer. If your xml needs to be dynamic, well, that is where you decide to pay for a more expensive but proven solution, or write it all yourself, in effect turning the simple project into a much more complicated one. You may want to ask your local Siemens representative for assistance as there may be a product or license to perform this task that most forum users have not run across yet.
