Hello, Check the cable and the resistor on the cable? Can you see the MP270 in the PC/PG interface on the MPI bus? You look in the FAQ for download project via MPI. How can you transfer a WinCC flexible project via MPI/PROFIBUS to a Windows-based panel? Tweety |

Do I need to connect the MPI cable to PLC CPU 416-2 port or on the back side of MP 270 (RS 232 port used as MPI via dip switches configuration) |

Hello, To make a summary: 1. You can take a backup from MP270 either using a Protool (in case is enebled "backtransfer option") or using a Prosave software. 2. For these cases you can use either serial RS232 (6ES7 901-1BF00-0XA0) or MPI/Profibus. The important point is that PC/MPI-Adapter and USB/MPI-Adapter are not released for transfer. You have a PG plus MPI cable. So far so good. Just to check as suggested above, connect the MPi cable to the CPU without to disconnect MP270. In order to do this there should have a connector like 6ES7 972-0BA50-0XA0.Then should be visible both devices like accesible nodes. Basically you don't need this procedure. Disconnect the panel from CPU, put the panel in "Transfer Mode" on the moment when you are already connected the PG. And that's it. Connection should be established and start downloading the project only if it is enabled (see the above mentioned links). My easier way, following the same procedure is to use a Prosave...
