IM 151-8 CPU Load Memory Error

What happens in case you have load memory less than work memory, any other problems arising out of it. Hello S7Mgr, When the Load memory (MMC) is less than work memory, you can not use the complete work memory of your CPU. Because a project uses always more Load memory then Work memory. Go to Blocks in project and with right mouse click go to Object properties. Second tab will show the amount of Work memory and Load memory needed for this project. When you want to use the complete Work memory of CPU, you need a bigger MMC. Hope this will help. Best regards, Wizard

That is for downloading andrunning a program, of course. If you want to save files (complete projects, CAD drawings,,,)on the MMC, then of course you should use a very large load memory moidule, 4 or even 8 MB. These are the rules you still have to use when you work with a S7-400, the Flash (or RAM)memory modules have to be selected properly. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

I am using IM 151-8 CPU with 128 K work memory and 64 K MMC. What would happen if I use 128 K MMC...? Will that do in my case..? But like you mentioned in the beginning, when you want to download the complete project, there could be a problem of not enough load memory. Because at that moment the Load memory occupies the new blocks and also the old blocks. When you use 128 K MMC, you will have less problems. , but as mentioned before, you will not be able to use the complete 128 Kbyte of workmemory. Best regards, Wizard
