VmWare Player - Network connection

Can someone explain to me what the best way to setup VmWare Player for Ethernet network connection "Network Adapter" (Bridge, NAT or Host-only)? Is need to set an IP address in both environments (host and guest) or only one? I would like a more detailed help on these settings, please ... Thank you !

So if your host has IP address 192.168.1.10 then keep the virtual machine address in same class so it can be anything like 192.168.1.11 If everything is good then you should be able to ping you host from virtual machine and vice versa. And about Firewall, is there a special thing to do ? regards.

manmeet Gold Member Joined: 1/3/2006 Last visit: 1/13/2026 Posts: 726 Rating: (71)	Hi Here is the significance of "replicate the physical network connection state" Select if the virtual machine uses a bridged network connection and if you use the virtual machine on a laptop or other mobile device. As you move from one wired or wireless network to another, the IP address is automatically renewed. I dont generally check it, even though Iam using it in my laptop. I have to disable Firewall of my virtual machine sometimes else connection between the ES and OS does not estanlish. If you are not able to connect with AS or any machine over the network then disable it. You need to see what works for you. Regards Manmeet.
