I am using S7 315-2DP CPU, Counter Module FM350-1AH03-0AE0 to read the value of incremental encoder.

the problem is after each power off, the value of encoder becomes ZERO 

how can I solve this problem.

You will need to save the actual value in Retentive memory. (Datablock that is Retentive)

When the CPU will start again, you will have to move this value to Start value. Use OB100 startup.

just pls. could you give me short example to show how transfer the new value after restart to the actual encoder value because I tried all what you told but still have same problem

FM 350-1 block program (APPnote# 225)

You have retained your actual value.

And in OB100 (Startup OB), you transfer this value to DBx.DBD14

And with the function: "CNT_CTRL" you can use the parameter L_DIRECT to load the current value
