I've had to reinstall Siemens products due to corruption in Windows. Everything went well but appearance of Simatic Manager is not good. It was fine before reinstall but now everything is bold and "harsh on the eyes".

This is Simatic Manager/Step7 Pro 5.6 w HF5 on Win10Pro x64 @ build 20H2 (19042.1165).

I can live with this but am tempted to try another install to see if its corrected.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how this can be corrected?

I think the reason are the settings in MS Windows. You have to change the default font in Windows.

Thank you for the suggestion. However this was one of the first things I tried. I set the default font to a very standard font and it made no difference. Neither does altering Windows native display settings. I also checked (quickly) through the registry to see if there were any specific settings there I could find. I didn't find anything.

So it appears as though this is something that happens during installation and then you must live with it. I am working with it and there are no issues other than the terrible display.

I may try and reinstall in a few days. If I do, I'll report back if the issue is resolved.

Today I solved the same problem successfully.

The problem was caused by Microsoft Beta feature of using UTF-8 coding in some cases.

To solve the problem do the following:
