Delete Database RT in WinCC V5.x

khicontiti Posts: 32 Rating: (0)	Dear all, I don't know why there are some messages in Event List which have wrong date & time (it occurs when began the system). Messages' year is 2032/2010... So How I can delete this message out of data base RT. And 1 more question: updating data base RT how to take place? With Server 1: Time for updating database RT about 5 or 10 days, but with Server 1, it seems be continuous. We are using WinCC V5.0SP2. Thanks, SmallMonkey

Salma Gold Member Joined: 9/27/2005 Last visit: 11/27/2007 Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	It is possible to delete invdidual entries from the runtime database but this should only be done by someone who know SQL and Sybase SQL Anywhere! Think of it like someone going into the Windows registry and adding / deleting entries. Or,in the real world, someone cutting open your stomach. Yeah it's possible (maybe necessary) but you want to be absolutely sure that the person doing it is qualified to do so [:P] If you do go down this route, it's basic SQL commands against the MSArcShort and/or MSAcrLong table. However you must ensure you have a valid backup before making any changes to the WinCC database in case of corruption!!

What do mean by updating the runtime database? Are you referring to short-term and continuous archives? Are you referring to Storage?

(Client is configured by Project Switcher for connecting to Server). Are you referring to short-term and continuous archives? -> I see that projectRT.db file size increase when system operates. Are you referring to Storage? -> No. My view is "ProjẻctT.db" file. Could you show me where Sybase Anywhere document is found? Thanks, SmallMonkey

This is expected behaviour. You can find the Sybase manual under C:\Program Files\Sybase\SQLAnywhere\win32 but be careful as interacting with the database could lead to corruption and destroy your WinCC project [:o] Please can you ask your original question again and supply more details?
