My question is how to start the software controller? since I'm sure that it is already installed.

I search for other related topics and manuals, and it seems that there should be a booting option that shall allow me to select starting the Windows and Software Controller but I don't have this option, I only have Windows. 

If you have any hint, please let me know!

according to your description:,at least I have the follwing recommandatiion for your reference. 

1.:you have a F cpu indeed,but you configrue a non-f cpu instead.of couse you can deactive the F function,however you must choose a F-cpu as your software controller is.

2:It's very obvoius to see if the softwre controller is run.if you don't sure,restart you 1505sf computer,and double click the cpu icon,wait for the cpus panel apear,the press the power on button and ackowledge it,

2;you must first download the whole pc,and the pc will restart itself ,after restart you can the downlod your plc program.

Indeed I have an F-CPU as my software controller but in TIA Portal I disabled the F-functionalities. I have enabled F-functionalities but still I cannot reach the Software Controller.

Regarding point 2. I would have been expected to see that virtualized display for my software controller, but I cannot find it nor access it. I looked for it everywhere. I even installed the latest version of software controller CPU1505SPF 21.9  but without any success.

After reading almost any document related to my hardware CPU 1515SP PC2, I found that there should be a boot option when starting the PC which shall start the windows + the software controller. In my booting menu I only have the windows option.

I think my problem can be related to this fact.

If you have any hint just let me know. Still, I will also ask for Siemens local support since I can't figure it out.

Hello all,

after getting in contact with Siemens support, they suggest to uninstall the software controller (which was not working) and install it again - probably the only thing I did not tried 

After doing so, I was able to see in boot menu the Windows + software controller option and also after loading windows the virtualized controller was available.
