AZRAIQI Posts: 67 Rating: (1)	Hi All, I have an old PC installed BMS programs "desigo insight", and i want to upgrad it to new PC with the same OS (xp) and same programs. I'm asking if i take an Image for the PC and installed it to the new PC i will faced a problem with licence ?? And if i will faced it, what i should to doing .. ?

The dongle number has to correspond with the license file for the specific project. This means that you need both, the dongle and the corresponding license file. Imageing the PC does not change anything in the licensing. It is theoretically possible to image the PC and install the PC on other PC. This works fine under Windows 7 and later OS in most cases. Please note two very important aspects: · Windows XP has quite often hardware driver issues when restoring an image on another PC platform. This is well known. It is therefore NOT recommended to carry out this task under Windows XP! ·Windows XP has been phased out several months ago. Microsoft does not deliver security updates for the broad market anymore. We do NOT recommend to run a building management station under Windows XP anymore! This is high risk from the IT security point of view. It is also a question regarding reliability. It is strongly recommended to update the PC to Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Server 2012R2. (Depending on the Desigo Insight version it may be required to migrate the Desigo Insight as well). AZRAIQI Posts: 67 Rating: (1)	ok , should the dongle be connected to the PC at all times ? or could it be that inserting the dongle once will copy the license file and I don't have to use it again ? just like transfer the Dongle (license/key) to the PC and use it without the need to connect the dongle. thanks...

This means that the dongle needs to be connected all the time, otherwise Desigo Insight will shut down immediately. There is no possibility to avoid that. You have to transfer the dongle and the license file, if you need to run Desigo Insight on another PC. There is a demo mode to run Desigo Insight for 30 minutes without a dongle. Project name has to be “demo” and you cannot have more than 100 DPs in the project. The system will shut down after 30 minutes if it has been started in the demo mode. Best regards, Albis

For the use of the software a license is not required. In the contents of the package there is no Dongle. The standard package is supplied as a set in a box, consisting of: • CD-ROM with − operating software − service software − alarm software − batchjob software (extra license requested) − documentation • Installation instructions Regards, Marcjan

The ACS700 software from V5.0 upwards does not require a license anymore. You just have to get the software package from an authorized sales contact. Best regards, Albis
