Hi,

      I am facing somewhat similar problem to this, as I am using WinCC Explorer 7.4. When I try to create a new project "Server Not Available Can not connect to server". I tried by reinstalling the software but still, the problem exists, So please help me for this.

Thanx  Georg Berghof for the reply. I started SQL Server (WinCC) manually as it wasn't running previous, but still, the problem exists. Please suggest me the solution.

Thanks for answer Georg Berghof. I have checked what you mentioned but i am not getting any error in summary.txt (May be due to i dont know where to find error) . I am attaching the summary.txt pls help me if any error.. Thanks in advance..

Hi, After trying so many ways I formatted my Laptop & installed WinCC Explorer 7.4 again. Now I can create the projects only in C drive not in other drives after creating the project on another drive it says "SERVER NOT AVAILABLE" (Same message as in my 1st query)  & one more thing I can not open the existed programs which saved in my D drive... Pls, tell me any solution for this.....

Hi Georg, thanx for the answer. But I have tried to create the new project in other drives also & the same problem is there, & I tried to open the projects from other drives excluding C & D drives but the same problem occurred.

      Then how can I give actual user enough rights in Windows OR can give to Usergroup "SIMATIC HMI" right to access any drive.  Pls Help

Hello,

If your logged in user is administrator or power user and if you installed wincc from this windows user then you dont have rights problem.

If you installed wincc from some other user and then create a new user then you have to give simatic HMI right to that user manually in local user and group policy. right click my computer and then in manage you will find this. for drive specific problem try this- your drive must be shared and in drive properties-->security give full control to the working user.
