Does anybody know about the implications of changing IP addresses?. I have a PCS7 system with two controllers (one for safety) and two operation stations (one of them works as engineerign station also). Is there additional job required besides the IP address change?. Is it as simple as changing the addresses? Is it going to be required to download hardware or something else after addresses are changed?

I would appreciate your comments regarding this issue...

 Hello Sam,

Once the stations have been arranged and configured, the connections between the ES/OS server and the automation systems, as well as those between the automation systems themselves, are configured and downloaded to the individual stations.

Hence, I may not recommend to disturb the system if you do not know the complete steps.

Changing the IP address may cause OS disconnection if you miss the configure, compile and download steps to all configured station.

To get some more information about how to setup a PCS 7 project in general (AS, OS, clients) you should have a look in the PCS 7 compendium. This is a very good guideline will answer a lot questions.
