Error No PLC type description found for called or addressed block

HassanShahat Experienced Member Joined: 7/3/2006 Last visit: 10/30/2024 Posts: 70 Rating: (0)	Dear friends, I'm going to convert S5 program to S7, After removing all errors I get the message "Error No PLC type description found for called or addressed block" and I searched here for solution but I don't find clear answer for this Please I need your help to understand this error and how to correct ? legacy support Silver Member Joined: 7/15/2008 Last visit: 10/6/2024 Posts: 382 Rating: (44)	Hello Hassan Are you getting this Error in the S5 to S7 Converter Programm, or when you are trying to "Check Consistency / Complie" of the imported external source in S7. In your S5 Program did you remove all "Siemens Protected Blocks" and OB's ?? Regards / M.f.g

First the blocks without call-instruction, then blocks with call-instructions. sakubh Posts: 3 Rating: (1)	This error is because you don't have this system block in your project(in Simatic Manager). Add function "S7Program>Blocks>Insert New Object>Function". Open this function to edit, on left side of editor you have folder "Libraries>Standard Library>S5-S7 Converting blocks". Add function number that you have in error to you function, after this move, you will have in Simatic Manager this system function and error will disapear after next compilation.

Josh4Christ Regular Member Joined: 6/10/2016 Last visit: 9/14/2024 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	This was very helpful. The AWL files were scattered. OB1 and OB101 were in between the FC. So i cut them and paste them after the FC but before the DB. and it worked just fine. Thanks alot

nerven Advanced Member Joined: 3/17/2010 Last visit: 9/21/2024 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Thanks worked for me as well. 1. removed the Siemens protected blocks 2. sorted the OB's after the FC's but before the DB's 3. rearranged the FC's so that the calls were not before the declared fc's problem is that all the fc's are in STL, and need conversion to FB
