Hello everyone! I have a Cartesian portal robot in my possession. In this portal, there are a total of 5 axes: 2 X axes, 2 Z axes, and 1 Y axis. Both X axes have external encoders, and the Y axis also has an external encoder. All encoders used in the system are absolute encoders. As seen in the first picture I shared, I send the axes to the home position. However, when the CPU's power goes on and off or when I perform a CPU stop-start operation, the positions revert to what is shown in the second picture. My request is for these positions to be consistently maintained. In other words, even when I close and reopen the control panel or perform a CPU stop-start, the positions of these axes should not change. We perform this operation through the drive unit, which is the Control Unit in the Startdrive section of the TIA Portal. However, I do not know exactly how to do it. Could you please help? Dear budharft, please find detailed information about homing a absolut encoder with a S7-1500T CPU in the associated documentation: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109812057 In chapter 5.7.6 the adjustment of an absolut encoder is described in detail. |
