Sinamics S120 selection and software

Hello all,

It is my first time to work with sinamics S120.

I have a position control application and after my studies I selected these motors to fullfill my requirement.

1FK7080-5AH71-1FB0   AND   1FK7101-5AF71-1FB0

and from manual I selected these sinamics drives and cables
1- 6SL3120-1TE21-0AA & 6FX8002-5DS01  FOR  1FK7080-5AH71-1FB0   MOTOR
2- 6SL3120-1TE21-8AA & 6FX8002-5DS31  FOR  1FK7101-5AF71-1FB0   MOTOR

My questions are
1 - Do I need any extra module for sinamics S120 or any other cables or accessories?
2- what is the software should I use for these drives?

Do you have mentioned motors available ? They are phase out products and can't be bought from Siemens anymore.

To connect motors to drives you only need matching cables. But to make any use of your setup you require some DC link supply (BLM/SLM/ALM) and a control unit (e.g. CU320-2PN) + CF card with licences.

To make your life easier you may wish to use a technology CPU, eg. S7-1505D would match perfectly. Then CU320 is not required.

For this setup without CPU you can use Sinamics Startdrive. With a T-CPU additionally TIA Step7 is required.

Using TIA Selection Tool to configure your HW setup can be helpful.

I don't have these motors, so I will use 1FT7 instead.

Is it available?

Using TIA Selection Tool would give you only available parts. Or get current catalogue.

Otherwise once you selected a motor you can confirm its availability at the Industry Mall.
