engassaad Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Dear All i am using LOG RCO 230 with logosoft 5.0 and the serial cable for programming. i am trying to download my program to LOGO but always i get error: can not communicate with LOGO. i change computer and even ichange the logo an i still have the same eroor. is there any setting s to do with LOG or the port settings. please advice

rosa Posts: 191 Rating: (58)	Hi!! a customer had the same problem 2 months ago.. the problem was made by an Allen Bradley software wich had the port occupied.. please check if any other software occupies the port.. ROSA

LOGO!Barbarian Posts: 173 Rating: (95)	RS232 COM port occupied that you did not know about (from some other application) ?!!? Sometimes, it helps to open Windows Hyperterminal (Start->Programs->Accessories->Communication->Hyperterminal) and making a connection to the same port. Then when you start hyperterminal (make a shortcut to this configuration from the desktop - it helps to find it when you need it!), then click the button to disconnect the session (phone handset being put down on the telephone cradle) Sometimes this stops any other application using the COM port and free's it up for LOGO! to use. In LOGO! Soft Comfort, I always try the Interface setting to Auto Detect the LOGO! and then the Transfer setting to try and transfer the PC clock time. Then I know that the connection is working. (by watching the info window to see a successful transfer) Hope it helps all those out there lost in the RS232 COM world! By the way, I also always check Setting->Control Panel->System->Hardware-YDevice Damager->Ports to find the COM port number that is assigned - maybe there you can see if somehting else like an internal modem is now using the port. This is also helpful if you are using a USB to COM converter to find whatCOM number Windows has randomly assigned to the USB converter (this might change when you change to another USB port on the PC) Ah, I also just remembered that Bluetooth adapters or turning Bluetooth on, opens up lots and lots of COM ports, so the one that is connecting to LOGO! gets lost amongst them Check it out!
