Encoder connected to Logo 12/24 RCo

Hi,
I've an encoder connected to my Logo 12/24 RC0 (OBA6.ES10). It measure the cm that going through my stroke harvester. I'm using I5 and I6 as input and everything seams to be ok when I test it a manually and a little bit slower compared to real use.
Each 100 cm measure 300 pulses in "slow using" but when I use it in the reallity it shows a lot fewer pulses.
Anybody who knowes why and how I can solve it?

As I understand you, the sensor is an incremental encoder. This is only possible at very low pulse frequencies. Otherwise the LOGO! too slow for that.

That sounds not good! 
Is it possible to use an encoder which using less pulses during a 360-turn? 
For sure I want to meusure as close to the reality as possbile but if it shows 310 cm instead of 305 cm I think I still could use it.
What kind of encoder should I use to make the function of measure usebul?

What is important is not the number of pulses per rotation of the encoder, but the number of pulses per second at the input of the logo ! And it's not very high (see manual). The quick inputs that some logo versions have do not help you due to internal processing structures.
