Trying to connect to a brand new LOGO!

I have the same problem. I'm using LOGO! Soft Comfort 8.4.0 and trying to connect to a brand new LOGO!

This is my first time using Siemens PLC. I'm finding it very frustrating that won't just connect.

Windows 10 PC using a USB Realktek ethernet adaptor. The ethernet adapter works fine for all other applications. I've tried two other USB ethernet adaptors and have the same result. 

I've tried the ethernet adaptor set to automatic IP and to fixed IP but unable to get it to connect.

Note that when I click the blue refresh arrows it comes up with the correct MAC address shown on the screenshot show the correct IP, Subnet mask, gateway and MAC address of the LOGO! device. So it is reading this data from the device.

Also note along the top "Connect ~though: Ethernet ....." the next box is blank. There is nothing in the drop down menu.

I set it to:

IP address of ethernet adaptor: tried 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.100

Subnet 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway: Tried leaving it blank and also tried 192.168.0.1

DNS: Left it blank

What setting s do you recommend?

I've used the same IPv4 settings that you suggested.

The Interface box is empty, there are no interface options on the drop down menu.

Is there an update to LSC that I could update to? I'm using v8.4.0

I have had the same problem and have found the cause.

LOGO devices require a static IP4 address of 198.168.0.254 and subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 

Most Ethernet adaptors default to a Dynamic IP address. You have to change this to a static IP4 address above to get it to work.

The problem I have had is that I'm using a work PC and I don't have admin rights, so every time I want to use this I have to call my IT department. I'm still trying to find a work around for this.

I haven't been able to find any good instructions from Siemens on how to connect the the Logo to PC. If anyone has any good instructions please post them below.
