Adding New Modules to Anybus Communicator – CPU Stop Required?

I want to add new communication input modules to the Hardware configuration of the communication partner "Anybus Communicator Slave" and download these changes to the S7 PLC (CPU 417-5 H). Will this require stopping the controller?
