G120 powered by 1AC (monophase)

Vitas Posts: 74 Rating: (2)	Hi Everybody, I need to use G120 with feeding from 1AC (monophase line). As load is use 3AC squirrel-cage motor to 1kW and Un=230VAC. By all documentation are all Power Modules designed onlyfor 3AC feeding, but SITRAIN G120 unit is powered from monophase line, it mean that exist way how solve it. Have somebody idea or experiencehow make it? Vitas

Vitas Posts: 74 Rating: (2)	Thank for Your response, On principle the Power Module (PM) is designed to 480VAC, it is maximal input voltage. By this value is PM limited to MAX. range (DC condensators max. voltage), but I don`t see reason, why be limited by minimal input voltage?!? On principle the AC input voltage is rectified to DC circuitand inverter bridge take energy from mentioned DC circuit. Differency between 1AC and 3AC is only in increasing of input current and voltage ripple.

I'm from Peru, I've a voltage elevator and converter from 220VAC to 400VDC, I use for my presentations to my clients, the PM240 of 1HP, motor 3AC 1HP without load. the conection is 1AC. Internally the conection is with the Bus DC. Rectificator (4 diodes) and 2 condensers.

Vitas Posts: 74 Rating: (2)	Hi Joelnh80, I understand of all very well, but I don`t understad of the G120 developers why I am limited by min. voltage 380VAC, when I have use as load 3AC motor with nominal voltage 230VAC. Logicaly I don`t need some voltage booster, transformeror something else. Next logical mismatch is in reality, that G120 is successor of Micromaster and they has possibility feed by 1AC 230VAC line. It`s mistake or "perfect" Siemens financial policy!?!? This configuration is for real application and not for demonstration.

JensS Posts: 739 Rating: (55)	Hello, The G120-PM on the input side (power/line supply) is limited to: 3 AC 380 … 480 V 3 AC 500…690 V On the out put (motor) side you have several possibilities. e.g.: 3AC 400V line supply Possibilities: 3AC 400V Motor supply 3AC 230V Motor supply Or if you have a single phase motor than follow the FAQ:http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/12519917
