How To Split a Modulrac for Remote IO between 2 ACMs

import from Process Automation User Connection, Talk to Other Process Users Gary Snodgrass posted on 11/25/03:We were interested in finding out if you could split a Modulrac used for remote I/O between two (2) ACM's. To perform this test we took a 10 slot Modulrac that was the last I/O rack of a controller and terminated the I/O bus after slot 4. We then put a Bus Diverter Module into slot 5, connected the I/O bus from another controller to the termination strip of the BDM and put a bus terminator on Slot 10 of the Modulrac. Since the I/O bus is bi-directional it was our feeling that this should work. After completing the terminations we added a HFM card to slot 6 and we were able to see the card and configure points on it. This to us is a way to make use of Modulrac space without having to purchase a Modulrac with fewer slots if you already have a 10 slot unit available.
