Slow logo cummunication

vroomshoop Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	I have logo soft comfort 6.1 on mij computer. If I want to download (or upload)a program from the logo, then it takes about 5 minutes before he recognicez the logo. The download itself is normal. The USB port is 17 has that something to do with it. Pc is a HP Compaq 6720s with windows xp proff.

LOGO!Barbarian Posts: 173 Rating: (95)	Hey 'Slow LOGO! Comms' guys! The USB to COM port driver is NOT HAPPY when there are already lots of other virtual COM ports generated by Windows. This happens if you have Bluetooth on your PC - the drivers for these types of devices generate a LOT of virtual COM ports. If you try and install the LOGO! USB cable after this, it will get a very high COM port number (like 17) and the LOGO! Soft Comfort software will take a very long time to (i) detect it and (ii) communicate with the LOGO! The best advice is to REMOVE the Bluetooth devices & drivers (you may have to turn the device off in the PC BIOS or there might be a switch or a setting for it), remove the LOGO! USB cable driver, then reboot and FIRST install the LOGO! USB cable driver to get a low COM port number (best is <COM 5). Then turn on your Bluetooth devices and re-install the drivers. All the virtual COM ports for this will then be created ABOVE the LOGO! USB virtual COM port number and LSC will be happy & faster! Hope this helps!
