TIP: Connecting a SIMATIC HMI Unified with a SIMATIC S7-1500R/H

Thanks for the example above, is there any example in TIA V15.1. We just got 15.1 through our cooperate IT and siemens have moved on to v16.

Would appreciate if you can convert 16 into 15.1 and share it.

Hi,

The Application Example "Connecting a SIMATIC HMI operator device with a SIMATIC S7-1500R/H" (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/br/pt/view/109781687/en) shows two ways to connect an HMI to a S7-1500R/H:

• The SIMATIC S7-1500R/H controller can be configured in such a way that, should one PLC module fail, the HMI operator device will automatically connect with the second, still running, PLC module.
• Alternatively, there is the option of switching from the failed PLC module to the running PLC module with the help of a script in the HMI configuration

The related project, however, doesn't shows how this second option could be done in WinCC Unified.

So, some tips for this implementaion:

• The ChangeConnection should be configured without Rack/slot definition
• You need to configure one script in the Schedules (reading tags of both reference connections before get the qualities).
• Connections would be defined directily in HMI (not in netpro).

Attached there is a sample project. I used two S7-1500 non redundant to enable simulation in PLCSim Advanced.
