You are apparently confusing the project files with the loadable device specific portion.

You would send a memory card for every device to receive an update.

Or, a single zip file with an instruction document with many steps for unarchiving just the parts required for each device, and how to safely delete files from the memory card (without rendering it useless).

Personally, unless I knew the customer or field engineer / technician had a long history of not corrupting memory cards, I would send multiple memory cards.

Consider charging different prices for the updates if they keep the memory cards rather than install the updates and return the cards to you.  In other words, are you selling them memory cards AND updates, or just updates and making it easy for them?  Of course, charge a refundable deposit fee that depends on your receipt of the memory cards.  But that's just business and not related to your question - and personal opinion.

Well. But what if in my project there are many operator panels with many graphics, pictures, and only one small plc program.  Then project's folder size will depend mostly by panels, not by PLC.
