How to install LOGO software?

I have bought the LOGO! 8 Starterkit TDE 12/24V 1P 6ED1057-3BA11-0AA8. It comes with two DVDs

- LOGO! Soft Comfort Version 8.2.1

- SIMATIC STEP 7 Basic/Professional, SIMATIC WinCC Basic/Comfort/Advanced V15.1

And a license USB key: SIMATIC WinCC Basic V15.1

So, the LOGO! Soft Comfort Version 8.2.1 software apparently comes without any license, it's free ? But my problem is, that I have no CD/DVD drive on my PC. I can download the software from 2nd DVD online, but not the LOGO software whicjh is free of license? How to install LOGO software?

It may be economical to have no DVD-ROM drive, but there are benefits to have an internal or external drive also for other software packages. I don't know your location, but in Germany we can buy such drives for a price lower than 10 EUR.

Exactly.. might as well supply it on a good old floppy drive.. how can you expect from your customer to still use outdated storage media in order to have access to installation files... this is mind-blowing.

I honestly cant believe its 2021 I just got my logo starter kit and the software came on a DVD! A search threw up this thread and another both suggesting use another machine and copy the stuff to a usb... 

Well here's a suggestion: supply the sodding software on a USB instead of a dvd. So many computers now don't have optical drives, if a usb key is used for the simatic key just stick everything on the same stick and don't bother with the DVDs.


Or embrace the modern age completely and do a download instead but I honestly prefer the usb idea as sometimes you are offline however now to play with my new toy I need to find an old dvd drive somewhere that my laptop will talk to.

I have forwarded your statement to the responsible persons and it was checked internally. I was informed that you received your authorization for the download on 8/1/2022 and you also loaded the software on that day. 

Please note: After two years you will receive an E-Mail asking if you want to renew your authorization. If you do not confirm this, the check will have to be done again.

Hi, I'm in the same situation and really I gon'd get this rule.

Have my original DVD on the table. Want to move from Laptop DELL from 2010 to new machine. No optical drive. Donwloaded upgrade. Asking me for installed software. Don't have one.

Basic software is free, but only on DVD, no licencing needed. 

Usable only for LOGO. So, everyone who bought LOGO need this SW. Everyone who didn't, have SW LSC for absolutelly nothing.

Why the heck do I need to have installed original SW and download upgrad instead of downloading whole new install package? It is useless for people WITHOUT the logo..
