WINAC RTX 2010 Sp2 and VM

Welcome.

I found solution for runFULLY virtual WINAC RT into VMWARE 9 for developing and testing enviroment.

I have Vmware Workstation 9 and Win7 32 bit guest operating system. At Host WIN7 64 Bit.

Let,s go:


1.Create VM at hardware compatibility 9 Version. (1 processor with 2 cores , 1 Ethernet Bridged Network Adapter)

2.In Vmware 9 VMX file You must add this lines (very important):

ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000e"
bios440.filename="FUJITSU211_314.ROM"

3.Copy into VM folder file from attachment (ROM FILE).

4.Install WINAC RTX 2010 on OS

5.In station configuration Add in slot IF1 IE General card . If You prompted to install drivers from RTX then accept this. From Guest OS this card was removed. Its normal don,t panic .

6.Then From Step7 set IP addresfrom Menu --->PLC---->Edit Ethernet Node.

7. Load program and use Fully virtualized WINAC.

If You Have some problems To set IP from Edit Ethernet Node from STEP7 then You can retrive config from WLD file added into attachment. IP addres is 172.16.1.80.

 Thank you very much for your tutorial. I've got my WinAC RTX 2010 up and running on my VMware Workstation 12.0 with Windows XP as the guest. And the WinAC is programmable from both STEP 7 5.5 and TIA Portal V14 Upd 2!

However my approach was a little bit different from yours. Here is how I do it:

1. Install Windows XP on VMware

2. Set the hardware compatibility to 9.0

3. Set the properties: # of processor: 1; # of cores: 2; VT virtualization enabled; 1 bridged connection

4. Install WinAC RTX with SIMATIC NET (few restarts). WinAC SPEED STEP was not defaulted, so I didn't stop the restart process

5. After the installation process succeeded, add the vmx properties:

ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000e"
bios440.filename="FUJITSU211_314.ROM"

6. Edit the WinLC properties from Station Configuration. Add IF1 IE_General Card.

7. Run the WinLC CPU, load the WLD file as per instructed.

8. Edit ethernet node as per instructed.

9. Soft PLC is accessible and programmable from both STEP 7 5.5 and TIA Portal V14 Upd 2!

I am almost done but at the end when I try to need to assign IP address , I am not able to do .

I know that after you bind the Network card to WINAC RTX, the network card disappears.

How do I manage to put IP address to the CPU ?

What should I do with the WLD file?

How do you retrieve config from WLD file?

Please help.

i have the same problem as in the first post. The CPU load is 100% (see picture) A Windows 7 with 64 bit is used as hostsystem. The VM runs whit VMWare workstation player V14.
I have the entries
ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000e"
bios440.filename = "FUJITSU211_314.ROM"                                                                                          in the VMX file and also the files from the attachment of LBEBENEC to the same folder in which the VMX file is transferred.

I have the same configuration also on a Windows 7 Ultimate Industrial PC with 32 Bit. There I have only a CPU load of 36 - 44%
The VM Workststion Player 6 is running on the industrial PC.

What can it be that I have in the VM on the Windows 7 with 64Bit 100% CPU load?

Edit: I have found the Problem. I have stop the process and the CPU load is o.k.

I have deinstall the Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology and it`s all all rigth.

On the industrial PC with Win 7 ultimate 32 Bit, I had to play back my data backup. Without this card driver, the Soft PLC always went into disorder and all the LEDs blinked. The test environment with Win 7 (64Bit) runs on a desktop PC. There the deainstallation was correct.

Hi!

I configured all but I can't connect to WinAC from other PC, only using PC Internal ( Local ) PG/PC Interface with a local S7 installed.

In the attached image, you'll see all running and I think that all is configured. If I ping this VM using 192.168.1.235 from another PC It doesn't response.

The network card was removed from OS, I tried adding other network card in VM but I can't set an IP as 192.168.1.xxx because It says that It's in use....

In Station Configuration I only have WinAc configuration, I can't add an IEGeneral because I haven't a network card to configure.

I'll appreciate all help you can give me!

I think You must check mask 255.255.255.0 at first.

Give screen from hwconfig step7.
