I got a TP700 on which I enabled Sm@rtService.

When I won't to connect with VNC or Sm@rtClient I get a message:

This server does not have a valid password enabled. Until a password is set, incomming connections cannot be accepted.

Of course you have to set a Password in the WinCC Internet Settings in the control Panel on the Touchpanel. There ist after the Project Transfer with Option Sm@rtServer activated a Tab with "Remote". Here you can administrate the 2 possible passwords.

In the Comfort Panels there is no standard Password defined as in the Wincc Flexible Panels. You have to set it to get it run.

I think upto  V12 comfort panel , it was possible to connect with sm@rt client with by default password. But since v13 its manditory to set password for remote connection in control panel of HMI . This is due to security reason they have changed the configuration.

Now since V14 don't need any sm@rt client license for comfort. Its free service. Only for basic 2nd generation you need license for accessing panel by remotely.

I'm getting the same fault on my MP277 HMI. Until a week ago this was working fine for a few years without any problem.

But now we're keep on getting the fault: This server does not have a valid password enabled.

I've already tried the following:

- re-entered the password in the smartserver settings on the HMI.

- updated the firmware and afterwards re-entered the smartserver settings.

For now the problem remains, does anybody have any other ideas?
