We have a project with an S7-1200 using the following hardware configuration:

• CPU 1214 DC/DC/DC, CM1241 RS485, 16DI, 4AI, 4AI, 4AI

The project was developed using TIA Portal V18.

We are considering upgrading to the new S7-1200 G2 CPUs.
However, in the project, we have implemented configuration control (option handling) to manage different hardware configurations within a single project:

Configuration A:CM + CPU + 16DI + 4AI
Configuration B:CM + CPU + 16DI + 4AI + 4AI
Configuration C:CM + CPU + 16DI + 4AI + 4AI + 4AI

Is the same function available with the G2?
Are there any examples available, considering that the DB structure used was specifically designed for the S7-1200 (e.g., slots to the right and left of the CPU)?
