Hi,

I am currently working on TIA19 on PLC 1511-1PN and HMI MTP1500.

I am using NTP to connect to a server to get time, timezone etc. I was requested to add an alarm in case the connection to the NTP drops, and possible also display an indication on the screen that the NTP connection is live or disconnected.

Is there any built in function on the PLC or HMI that can alarm this?

I found some information about a PLC block called 'RDREC' which is used for hardware diagnostics but couldn't figure out if this can be used for what I am trying to do.

The way it should work is as follows:

• Step 1 – Ping server (if fail, generate alarm)
• Step 2 – Check NTP status ( if fail generate alarm)
• Step 3 – if both ok, reset alarm

Any help would be much appriciated.
