Siemens has provided us with a safety block which provides a sequential muting of a light curtain with 4 muting sensors. Sequential Muting of a Light Curtain with S7-1500 - ID: 58793869 - Industry Support Siemens

But whenever your workpiece is exiting the hazardous area, it is allowed to only provide 1 muting pair (2 sensors) on the hazardous side of the light curtain. Is there a certified software for this application?

Like you say, the document is very well made. But it only applies to having 4 muting sensors. One on both sides of the light curtain.

My question is, 'Is there certified code available for light curtains with only 2 muting sensors? Like shown in the attached pictures.'

When using a safety light curtain. You have 3 main muting setups. Each with their own benefits.

1. 4 sensors, parallel
   1. Can be used for bidirectional product flows
2. 2 sensors, cross muting
   1. Can be used for bidirectional product flows
3. 2 sensors, parallel
   1. Can be used for single directional product flows

We would like to use option 3.

Sick for example has inbuild this fucntion to some of their safety light guards, and it's called exit function. Sick also has a safety block for TIA for this, but you need to buy it.

One option is that you develop the function by your self.
