Why doesn’t the "Create module driver" function automatically interconnect my PA drivers?

I have following error in Module driver log,

"Parameter OUTPUT/I_POS_D is already interconnected with a different address"

It points to me to a  CFC where the linked PA device replaced but one of the address not modified. However that device and CFC are working OK. But the error linked to it doesn't allow me to generate module driver for the current PA device replacement which also requires address modification in CFC/Symbol table.

If you save the entire compilation log we can have a closer look.

Anyways based on what you said a couple questions:

Did you updated the CFC with symbol after you changed it(CFC-> Options/Update with Symbol Table)?

Did you try to remove the connection in question, compile and connect it back and compile again?

Note: Just a strange story happened a couple of years ago. A VFD was moved from one DP stream to an other.The DP slave had to deleted, HW config needed a compile, then add the same DP slave back on again to the new place and compile again. Then it worked.

I deleted the old GSD from HWConfig, installed new GSD which changed Input addresses, hence changed the relevant addresses in Symbol table.

Then changed the reference addresses in 2 of the CFC's (Its a Sipart PS2 PA Profile3.01 v5.00.02 valve pos which is used in a FV & FIC CFC), i had to update symbol in the CFC as on the chart it wasn't changing to the address i had selected. In fact when it wasn't changing address i deleted the interconnection and created again without success. It accepted the address only after CFC - option/update symbols.

The points I tried to make that the removed and freshly inserted slave not recognized as different module by your system. It should not happen, but the only comment I can make is to think about the options below:

What my logic dictates no1: Maybe you should consider to make sure the system data regarding to the old instrument deleted (Compile HW config after removed the old instrument but before you insert the new instrument) then add the new instrument and compile.

What my logic dictates no2:  Maybe you should try to remove the connection to the symbol from the CFC and compile (with generate module driver) * so the Module driver cause the confusion in your code should get deleted * then you connect it to the right symbol and regenerate module driver again.

It may help, may not! Anyways you can contact your local Support and see what they say!
