Good afternoon.

I carry out maintenance on MecaSolar tracker units on solar farms across the UK.

These systems were installed circa 2010, using the S7-200 PLC..

I service these systems using a TD200 display unit, to check alignment, verify sensor functionality and occasionally correct time and date.

I recently had to replace the TD200 as the previous unit was damaged.

When I connect the new TD200 to the PLCs, I get a 'no block parameter' error.

Having tried this on 5 different sites with the same result, I think the TD200 may be the issue.

The original TD200 was V1.1, the replacement unit is V3. Is this possibly a version/ firmware compatibility issue ?

Any help or guidance with this would be greatly appreciated.

The configuration for the TD200 is stored in a datablock that is part of the user program of the S7-200 PLC. The default is to start this block at VB0, but it might be different. The configuration on the TD200 should point to that VB memory address.

I have 70% confidence that the V3.0 can stand in for the V1.1 TD200 without changes. I do not have the software now, so you will have to confirm that:
1) Create a program for the V1.1, using the TD200 wizard.
2) Create a 2nd program for the V3.0 also
3) Download the 1st program in the PLC and test with a TD200. (if possible)
4) Compare the datablocks of program 1 and program 2.

I have no immediate familiarity with a TD200 connecting with a Mitsubishi PLC. However, my experience with S7-200 CPUs tells me that this is not possible.

With a CPU from another manufacturer, you have no way of linking to a TD200.
