I have been using tia portal for some years now., i have just started a new project with an s71200G2 PLC and a unified hmi. i can download to my plc but i cant download to my unified hmi. this is my first time of using a unifed hmi. iam using tia portal v20

I forgot to mention 2 factors. I am using both ports on the s71200G2, 1 connected to my laptop and 1 connected to my unified HMI.
Secondly, I was able to use the online access feature in tia portal to set the IP address of both the PLC and HMI

Oops, found it. Somehow on the HMI device i set the IP address to 190.168.1.3 and it should have  been 192.168.1.3

thank you for your reply., and yes  did have to  connect via ethernet. i then had to ‘fit’ and also had to get the panel images from the Siemens Website. It has now downloaded. However, when i made a small change to my HMI it keeps asking me to ‘fit’ and do a full download again. And sometimes it does download, other times it doesnt and give me an error?

ah, all sorted, i had to revert back to normal download and not full download. Thank you for the support
