Hi all,

In the plc I would like to disbale/enable parts of the software depending on which user is logged in.

In this case if a door is openend, the machine stops. But if someone from maintenance department is logging in, some functions will be released again (at safe speed AND with an enabling button pressed).

For this I suppose a tag should be written in HMI which can be read in plc.

I tried with HasUserRole and GetRolesFromUser to change the value of a tag, but unfortunately it doesn't work.

I tried changing the value of the tag to 1 if an operator is logged in, value 2 for maintenance (customer) and value 3 for service engineer (supplier).

This is my first ever project with a unified panel (MTP700) and scripts…

Does anyone have a solution how to get this done?

I think this will work when the users are already created.

I am sorry, I think I wasn't entirely clear in my first message: 'depending on which user is logged in' is not correct but should be ‘depending on which type of user is logged in’.

A RF1070R reader will be connected to the MTP700 and the customer can add new users as well.

The names of the users created by the customer are not known and can change from time to time.

Therefore the user group or user role should be known and not the username. 

I tried below script in a scheduled task (executed when @UserName changes), but it's not working:
