Hi to all!

I am working on a bigger project, with a long "history".... and together with history, it came to that, that PLC-s are programmed in STEP7 ("classic"), and panels are now created with TIA portal (in this case, TIA14).

Recently, I have decided to create a local engineering station (on-site), in order to keep the project (with alll PLC-s, panels and SCADA) in one place and also to ease management of project. And I also want to manage all HW from this ES, irrespectively, of how is connected to ES, (that means, I do not want to go to every panel localy and download changes localy..).

In my case, TIA panels seems to be the problem. Programming application (getting tags to TIA through proxy) works OK, but I can not get the download (through routing) to work proerly.

On the first link, there is application described, how to use "proxy" to get the tags from S7 project to TIA portal project. And, If I understand the description properly, also the same proxy can be used as some sort of gateway, when downloading panel from TIA. Or am I wrong? Can this proxy also be used as a gateway, that tells TIA, hav to access to panel?

And also, in article from the second link, there is a statement, that all panels are supported (with version >=14.0.0)...

But, I can not get the download working properly. Attached picture shows my situation.

Any advice / tip / trick?

Thank you very much for your answer. I have checked your links, they are useful for sure (talking about routing between PLCs).

In the mean time (I have nothing other to do on Sunday...), I have decided to test the situation in my office, of course on "small scale" hardware (actually, the HW, that I have in my office at the moment). It is not the same, as in plant, where I am having this problem, but...).

And, I must say, that the routing works (in my office), on other HW!

The panel is the same, as the one in plant (KTP700-DP), only the PLC (and "Route" is different).

In my office, I am using PLC317-2PN/DP and I am doing routing all on PLC integrated interfaces. I am connected to ES with ethernet, (on integrated PN interface of CPU) and panel is then connected to PLC through (integrated) Profibus. My test system works, I have even downgraded firmware on panel to 13.0.... and it still works.

I will have to investigate further.

In plant, where I have this problem, the HW is different:

PLC is 413-3PN/DP. ES is connected to additional Ethernet communication processor CP 443-1 (and not to in PLC integrated PN, again due to "Historical reasons); Profibus to my panel is connected to IF 964-DP (there is much more then 32 PB slaves on this network...). Maybe the problem is, that I am trying to perform routing on additional interfaces (not on interfaces, integrated in PLC...).

So, I will probably have to test also this combination of HW, when I get a chance....

... new results (bad ?) on this problem:

I have tested the configuration also wirh s7-400 configuration, almost the same, as I have in my plant, and the routing does not work.

I am thinkink, that PLC (and/or cp443-1) are too "old" for such routing (the system was originally biult up in year 2007, and there was no usable TIA at the time...; (and now I am trying to do routing with TIA 14, on that old hardware...).

I can not find anywhere, which firmware version (for S7-400) is minimum for such routing. On my desk, I have a CPU 414 3.DP, with firmware 4.1.0. This might be a problem.... .

I will make a support request to see the boundaries.

 Hello. I want to do the same at my factory. Were you able to solve the connection problem with the 400 PLC? Did Siemens support answer you? My equipment is very similar to yours.
