WinCC 7.4 SP1 PLC disconnection. License problem?

WinCC 7.4 SP1 Windows Server 2016 Once solved most critical problems (a lot) and WinCC is stable now more than 2 days…, the next problem are WinCC communication disconnection with some PLC: After restart, all PLC are online and, after some time (one or two days) one of the S7 PLC disconnects and after that I think all of the Sy-1200 / s7-1500 Channel are disconnected. WinCC has: 8 x SIMATIC S7 PROTOCOL SUITE PLCs, and 7 x SIMATIC S7-1200 and S7-1500 Channel PLCs. I've checked License Manager and found one unit with a Softnet-S7 Basis and SOFTNET-S7 Lean license. Can we confirm that this isn't enough for 8+7 PLC? Thanks in advance!

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 1/16/2026 Posts: 16644 Rating: (1944)	Hello If you have more that 8 PLC Connections the Softnet S7 Lean License is not enough: Check out this FAQ: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/21914909 But this should not lead to a connectino interruption. you could try to check the error logfiles in the WInCC Dianose folder in the WinCC Installation folder. Perhaps in the S7 Protocol Suite or S71200/1500 Logfiles are some additional information or error codes Bye Murof
