Poljachina77 Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	I have a question regarding hardware interrupts. I would like to catch the reference - R (Z) signal from an incremental encoder. This signal comes at exactly one revolution of the encoder. So my configuration is I0.0 - Signal A, I0.1 - Signal B (used for HSC1) and I0.2 Signal R (reference signal). I've tried to configure the hardware interrupt for this input with a positive edge or negative edge but it does not work reliably. Sometimes the hardware interrupt is executed(if the encoder is turned very slowly), but most of the time it misses it. Has anyone had a similar problem? It is strange, because a year ago I managed to solve this exactly the way that the PLC is configured now. Any help would be great. Thank you in advanced. Best regards. Ales

Ales Your post is really small for my eyes. I zoomed in and think I have a workable solution. Depending on your hardware and plc programming and other possible interrupts going on, like for the high speed counter counting, you might miss one of the pulses just using a hardware edge detector since that uses some amount of filtering. You might be better off setting up a HSC for the Z signal. Have it call an interrupt when it counts to ONE. When the interrupt runs, reset the count to 0, and then do whatever you were going to do with your hardware interrupt edge detection logic (count rotations, or whatever). HSC can easily keep up with counting a single pulse per rev. Just be careful not to do too much in that HSC call.
